Tapping When Away From Piano

I stubbled across this. I am going to develop the habit of doing this. I always had issues with speed and dexterity. You don’t even have to be at a piano to practice.

Cheers

Adam,

This seems a good way to build finger strength and dexterity. A number of this guy’s other lessons are interesting as well. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! I just found this video; it is amazing. I am not sure how it will work for me, but it obviously provides a great way to be engaged with the piano when away from the instrument. I have just begun jazz theory and am doing a tremendous amount of mental piano work since returning to play after years of being away from the piano. I am always looking for ways to improve my technique. ;). I can’t help but smile when I hear his voice!

Welcome to PianoGroove.
His voice is lovely. He has a few videos on Youtube. Very soothing and instructional.
I have been away from my playing for about a year too. I am just getting back as well. Good skill on your journey Noreen.

Kindly,
Adam

So glad you are back playing Adam! I have missed hearing you play! Hope you post something soon.

Thanks Celia. I hadn’t realized how much music is a part of my life until I stopped playing. So glad to be back in the fold.

Thanks for posting his video. I was away for more than 15 years and it is like drinking from a firehose to catch up - jazz theory is all new. Classical piano lessons but always have loved jazz - Bill Evans, Thelonius Monk, Sheering, Handcock, et. al. Lots to learn!

So any and all suggestions are welcome, particularly ways to improve away from the piano so as not to skip backward.
